Kyōto

Wer eine gänzlich andere Welt von Japan sehen möchte, muss Kyoto besuchen. Kyoto ist das kulturelle Zentrum Japans und dadurch das es im zweiten Weltkrieg aus Respekt nicht zerstört wurde ist es wie eine Reise in eine andere Welt. In Kyoto stehen mehr Tempel als Hochhäuser. Überhaupt ist das ganze Stadtbild ganz anders als Tokyo. Hier ist mehr Ruhe und Schlichtheit vorhanden. Man spürt die japanische Kultur, alleine schon deswegen, weil hier deutlich mehr Menschen in eine Kimono unterwegs sind als beispielsweise in Osaka oder Tokyo. Sehr zu empfehlen ist ein Besuch von Gion, dem Geisha Viertel in Kyoto.

If you want to see a total different side of Japan you have to visit Kyoto which is the cultural center of Japan. Due to the respect of the culture it was not destroyed in World War 2 and so it is like traveling in another world. In Kyoto there are more temple than skyscrapers which give a complete different view on the city than Tokyo for example. Here you find more simplicity and peace. You can feel the Japanese culture not only because here are more people walking around in a kimono than in Osaka or Tokyo. A must see is Gion, the geisha quarter in Kyoto.
